Visitors can stroll along the beautiful Ashley River and visit archaeological sites, the brick bell tower remains of St. George’s Anglican Church, and the fort made of tabby oyster-shell concrete.

Dorchester County has two main library branches, the Jennie J. McMahan Library in St. George and the George H. Seago, Jr. Library in Summerville. They also have a Bookmobile, a STEM Mobile Lab, and have many more libraries planned in the future.
