Adopt-A-Spot

The Adopt-A-Spot Program is a volunteer program focused on litter removal and beautification. Volunteers choose a location and then commit to cleaning the area at least eight times a year and may also conduct and/or assist with beautification projects.

Litter Removal Statistics

2023: 136,400 lbs. of litter was removed from 250 miles of Dorchester County roads.
2021: 45,771 lbs. of litter was removed from 82 miles of Dorchester County roads.
2020: 51, 625 lbs. of litter was removed from 91 miles of Dorchester County roads.
2019: 61,800 lbs. of litter was removed from 118 miles of Dorchester County roads. 
2018: 12,175 lbs. of litter was removed from Dorchester County roads and the Edisto River.
