Dorchester County received an allocation of $19,338 under the FY 2024 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program Local Solicitation (Direct Award) from the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance.  This program furthers the Department’s mission by assisting state, local and tribal efforts to prevent or reduce crime and violence.  The Sheriff’s Office would like to use the funds to purchase an additional speed trailer for the traffic team and detention body armor that was not approved in the FY25 budget.
