Dorchester County Fire Rescue (DCFR) has partnered with the American Red Cross and the Jeffrey Lee Williams Foundation to make smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms available to all Dorchester County Residents. 

The alarms are provided by the American Red Cross and installed by DCFR on Saturdays.

County residents may request to have a smoke alarm and/or carbon monoxide alarm installed in their home by completing the below form or contacting DCFR Headquarters at (843) 563-0214. Note: Carbon Monoxide alarms will only be installed in homes with gas appliances and/or a gas fireplace. 

North Charleston

Residents who live in the City of North Charleston should contact the North Charleston Fire Department, at (843) 740-2616, to request a smoke alarm. 

Summerville

Residents who live in the Town of Summerville should contact the Summerville Fire Department, at (843) 873-5107, to request a smoke alarm.
