The Public Relations Society of America is the pinnacle of professional organizations for public relations practitioners and communicators across the country and beyond. PRSA holds practitioners accountable for practicing public relations deeply rooted in ethics and the highest professional standards.
PRSA offers a credential called APR. It’s the “Accredited in Public Relations” distinction. We are pleased to share that our Dorchester County PIO, Tiffany Norton, is now…Tiffany Norton, APR!
The APR credential demonstrates a practitioner’s expertise and competency in the field of public relations. Accredited practitioners have a deep understanding of ethical standards and are proficient in communications principles. The APR distinction elevates a practitioner’s credibility and reflects sound professional judgment in the practice of public relations. The process of achieving the APR credential is rigorous. It’s even more rigorous during a pandemic. Fewer than 2% of PR practitioners achieve this status. It’s considered the gold standard for public relations and communications professionals.
On Monday, June 7, County Council joined Ashley Dusenbury, APR, Accreditation Chair of the S.C. Chapter of PRSA for Tiffany’s APR pinning ceremony. But there’s more to her story. In 2017 Tiffany was the first communicator in South Carolina to earn the CPC designation and is a Certified Public Communicator. Team Dorchester County has the only accredited and certified Public Information Officer in the Southeast—Tiffany Norton, APR, CPC!
