Dorchester County and County Council Members will be hosting a Community Outreach Series during the next year designed to inform, educate, and engage residents.
The first part of the series will include Lunch and Learn events primarily taking place in the St. George area. On Wednesday, July 27 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at St. George Library (506 N Parler Ave, St George, SC 29477) residents will learn preparedness tips and what actions to take before, during, and after a hurricane. While lunch is provided, residents may also bring their own lunch to the event.
"Our goal is to provide opportunities for our residents to connect with each other and to local government so that they can stay informed of important safety recommendations and Dorchester County Government project updates," said Councilwoman Holman. "We are excited to take these community programs out into the county so that residents can hear directly from presenters, ask questions, and fully engage in the program."
The lunch and learn sessions for the rest of 2022 are as follows:
- July 27: Hurricane Preparedness at St. George Library (506 N Parler Ave, St George, SC 29477)
- August 31: Rural Broadband Update at The Grits Building (110 S. Parler Ave., St. George)
