Community Development Block Grant Public Hearing

During the regularly scheduled County Council Meeting on Monday, April 18, 2022, Dorchester County will hold a public hearing in the Willie R. Davis Council Chambers at the Kenneth F. Waggoner Services Center, 201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC 29477. The purpose of the public hearing is to solicit public input concerning an application to be submitted to the SC Department of Commerce, Division of Grants Administration on or about May 5, 2022 for a Community Development Block Grant.  Dorchester County is requesting approximately $50,000 to provide technical assistance for CDBG project development in Dorchester County.  The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments will provide this technical assistance.

This public hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of Dorchester County’s Citizen Participation Plan, developed in anticipation of participation in the State of South Carolina's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of Dorchester County in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds.

The Dorchester County Citizen Participation Plan is available for review at the Kenneth F.
