County meetings are conducted in accessible locations, materials can be provided in accessible formats, and provided in languages other than English. Board of Assessment Appeals

Dorchester County Council adopted Ordinance Number 79-04 on April 3, 1979, creating the Board of Assessment Appeals. The Board consists of seven members, one from each of the seven Council Districts, appointed by County Council. the terms of the Board members coincide with that of the Council member from the Council District which the Board member represents. The Board hears appeals of property owners concerning the valuation, assessment and taxation of property. The Board may be convened by action of the Assessor, Chairman or any property owner who wishes to make an appeal. The Board is staffed by Ms. Laura Troutman with the Assessor's Office.
