The Conservation Commission leads the effort to conserve/preserve Dorchester County's significant natural and historic resources, with an emphasis on protecting:
- water quality
- farms and forests
- wildlife habitat
- scenic views
- natural areas
- historic buildings/sites
The Commission makes recommendations to County Council regarding allocation of funding and other items related to the conservation of natural resources and preservation of historic sites. The Conservation Commission typically meets the first Thursday of the month though additional meetings are called as required.
