Veterans Parade & Celebration - CANCELLED

Veterans' Fish Fry Has Been Moved.

Due to the threat of rain, chilly temperatures and windy conditions, the 2021 Veterans Day Parade & Celebration that was to be held on Saturday, November 6 in St. George stands cancelled.

Dorchester County had been preparing for this event for some time and so it disappoints us to cancel. The decision to cancel the event was made because the safety of the attendees, participants and volunteers must always be the top priority.

The Veterans' Fish Fry has been moved to the David Sojourner Senior Center at 5361 E. Jim Bilton Blvd. in St. George. The fish fry will take place on Saturday, November 6 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, and all veterans are welcome to enjoy this free event. Fish dinners will be available for dine-in or carryout.  Dorchester County would like to thank the Disabled American Veterans 78 – St. George Chapter, Francis Marion VFW Post #10980, American Legion Post #128 – Harleyville, and American Legion Post #105 – St. George for sponsoring this dinner.

The County plans to organize the free Veterans Day Parade and Celebration again next year, so we hope that you will grace this event with your presence in 2022.
